A beautiful ‘Lion House’ with wonderful proportion, brought up to date for modern family living, whilst retaining its Victorian character.
Careful thought was put in to specifying well proportioned furniture for some of the original cosier spaces, such as the front reception room where a window to the hall was installed to open up the room, to allow more light to flood in and to increase the feeling of space.
As well as clever use of joinery ensuring all of the family’s things had a home, we introduced details to elevate the ordinary by considering what makes each room unique and special to each member of the family. The children’s art collection, sport memorabilia, favourite colours hand-picked by the children, or room for an inherited dolls house and creation of a bespoke little girls dream bedroom castle.
The result is a well considered, well organised home, with warmth and character. Suitable for modern family life, socialising with family and friends, and enjoying time together.

FAMILY LIFE
Our clients are a young family of six, so this stunning house in the much desired Peterborough Estate of Parsons Green needed to be designed with their busy life in mind. Luckily the house has great proportion, and by digging down to create a very generous basement level an extra large family room, a gym, study, utility and additional guest bedroom suite were formed, taking the pressure off the rest of the house.
On the ground floor and the rooms above, stunning timber flooring was installed throughout, being both practical and warm underfoot this was the natural choice, with marble tiles in the wet areas.
Our clients are lovers of the colour blue, so various warm shades of this colour were used throughout the project. Paired with pinks, reds or greens so it never felt cool. Small prints, stripes and sprigs add interest in the choice of textiles, alongside panelling and wallpaper.
The principal bedroom suite is more retrained in palette, to act as a calm sanctuary for our lovely clients, a place to escape the joyful noise and chaos of the rest of the house.
